I expanded on this because I believe that in fact the practice does always come first. It is just an opinion, but I believe in it firmly. Without the practice there would be no need for the language, but the practice can be formed without the language, albeit not effectively, but there nonetheless.
I related the introduction in the outline to Haas’ “framing” because it talks about the background and already established information you need about a paper or topic before going into it.
I related this piece to our own writing. This is because I myself have been asked to come up with a “so what?” because without that writing a paper is quite meaningless.
I related this part of Gee to Haas’ “framing” because this talks about they “how” a writer says something and the “why” or “reason” they do so in the first place.
I expand on Gee here when he talks about the importance of language to say that without language pretty much nothing could ever get done. Language gives us the means to do everything, and yes we need resources, but without language those resources would never be made into anything.
I related Gee here to Haas’ “myth of autonomy” because this sections talks about connections and relevance. While not everything is connected to everything, everything is connected to something, especially writing.
