Reflecting on Revision – Paper 2

Introduction – I did not do a whole lot for my introductory paragraph in my revision. I spent a lot of time on it the first time around and I introduced properly my ideas of Gee’s discourse, Haas’ experiment with Scientific Discourse, and Gee’s Seven building tasks. The only changes I did make were slight grammatical and flow ones.

Evidence and Explanations – I kept all of my original evidence as again all of my quotes and ideas for the most part stayed the same. However, I went in a lot more depth with my explanation. I threaded and added building tasks throughout my paper as well as simply expanding on many portions of my analysis and explanation.

Reorganization – My organization for the most part stayed the same throughout my revision process. I did not find a need to really move whole ideas around, but more expand on my already established ones.

New Paragraphs – Once again I had no new paragraphs from my first to final draft. My draft needed a lot of work but an addition of ideas was not necessary as my foundation was there, I just needed to build more on it. The skeleton of my essay did not change, but many separate parts were heavily revised and expanded on, but not really changed, removed, or added.
